Colorado River Guides is a small, family-owned Steamboat Springs rafting company with over 40 years of experience providing white water rafting in Steamboat Springs and unforgettable Vail rafting adventures. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share Colorado’s incredible rivers with our guests each summer.
Trip Basics
We meet all guests right on the river. We’ll introduce your group & check-in. After a quick drive up river in our vans (no stuffy buses), our guides will get you geared up and give a short but thorough safety speech. Then we’re ready to raft! We will enjoy some splashy white water rafting that ends right back at your vehicle. This way, you can continue onto your next adventure! You won’t be waiting on anyone else at the end of your trip.

The Colorado River will likely be the best and closest white water rafting option from Steamboat Springs. It’s the perfect option for the entire family ages 3+. This beginner-friendly scenic rafting trip offers some splashy Class II/-III white water.
If you’re looking to spend a day exploring areas around Steamboat Springs on the ‘road less traveled’. I always recommend rafting on the Colorado River.
If your group is looking for more intermediate white water rafting from Steamboat Springs we offer trips on the Eagle River during the spring run-off seasons (May June). We meet our guests on the Eagle river About 1.5 hours South of Steamboat on the Eagle River.

There are many white water rafting options near Vail. We offer beginner white water rafting trips on the Colorado River May-September. We also offer intermediate rafting trips on the Eagle River during the spring run-off season.
The Colorado River is famous for its rugged remote wilderness areas and we are so lucky to have such a beautiful river right in our backyard. For over 35 years we have offered fun, splashy & affordable white water rafting to the Vail area perfect for ages 3+. Rafting from Vail is the perfect way to venture off the beaten path and see some truly remarkable backcountry.
We are a smaller company, reservations are required and advance reservations are encouraged since we can book up.
